Our friends, Martha and Aaron got engaged! I felt so honored that they trusted me to capture photos to celebrate their love and new upcoming journey in life. We decided on San Diego’s famous Coronado Island as a backdrop for their Engagement Photo Session.

I love Coronado Island. It’s so much fun going over the bridge from San Diego mainland, looking out over the bay. You can see the boats parked on the right as you go over and get a great view of the San Diego Skyline. The island has a couple of parks and a beach with the beautiful spire of Hotel Del Coronado as a backdrop. The island is tiny too, so it’s easy to get to all these locations with short car trips, allowing for multiple backdrops.

For props we decided on a blanket, wine bottle with glasses, yellow bouquet and lanterns with fairy lights. It helps to communicate and coordinate when it comes to getting the most visually of your session. We were able to coordinate colors with the props and dress. They’re not much, but they help tie in all these photos with a unique theme to you.

This was one of my favorite Engagement shoots. Martha and Aaron have a great sense of humor and we’re very relaxed throughout the 90 minute Engagement Photo Session.
